Holy Temple : Church History

In the beginning, the Lord gave Reverend James H. Clemmons a vision and the Lord blessed the congregation with a building behind a hardware store located on Lebanon Road. Only a few members were present for first service held the fourth Sunday in July 1987. Pastor James H. Clemmons, overseer and founder of Holy Temple Nondenominational Church preached and Sister Nadine Clemmons played for the choir. The fourth Sunday in August 1987 was the church dedication. This day dedicated before the Lord thanking him for bringing the church together.

The vision continued as Holy Temple moved to another home in 1989 located at our present location. Through much prayer, meditation, and hard work Holy Temple became just the little church on the hill located by the side of the road encouraged through inspiration and foresight of Pastor James H. Clemmons. The Lord added years to the church building and members to the congregation. The Lord showed favor and the congregation witnessed remodeling, which included a Pastor’s Study, additional restrooms, and a baptism pool. After many years of service and dedication to his congregation the Lord saw fit to take Pastor James H. Clemmons home July 2006 and First Lady Dorris Clemmons was called home October of the same year.

The year is October 2006; Holy Temple Nondenominational Church witness further remodeling and entered a new sanctuary, which included a new fellowship hall.

Under the leadership of Pastor, Damond E. Bragg installed, January 28 2007; the Lord is still showing favor and Holy Temple is still the church on the hill, located by the side of the road.
